Backyard BBQ

Grilling with charcoal + smoking with a pit = a great time to learn a primal way of cooking food with fire and smoke.

I am in North Carolina and I love learning about food & life by spending time outside with friends and family that includes my wife & twin boys.

I love to read and research BBQ & Outside Grilling - check out the link below for what I use and learn from (Amazon Affiliate Link) = thank you for supporting us to share with you our passion for BBQ.

Open Flame Cooking

Inspired by Francis Mallmann. Adam Perry Lang, Tuffy Stone and more - I love to take BBQ and create an experience that puts a smile on my friends and family’s face - you can see it with that first bite.

I currently use a Kudu open fire cooking grill that is fun to work with. My passion is an active grilling style that keeps me moving as I cook along with an open fire cooking method making for a fun family and friend experience - click link below for info on Kudu.

Smoking in a Pit

I started out with a Pit Barrel Cooker and love to learn about other cookers as well, and I find that smoked food done well - based on the history of Barbecue - can be some of the best food you can taste and eat. Info for Pit Barrel Cooker is HERE or click the link below.

Cooking outside

Stews, soups and more for just getting out of the kitchen will create food that not only tastes better but also gets people involved to make for an experience that will long be remembered.

Using a Potjieko (pictured), Dutch Oven or even throwing some potatoes on the coals creates amazing food that is more than just using a grill grate.

I have learned that people only use their grills about 4-5 times a year! Why? Boredom, grilling out alone and lack of knowing what to cook.

Embrace The Flame BBQ will change this to help you learn how to cook, give you more recipes and find ways to get others to join in on the fun.

Learn about different proteins, veggies & seafood to cook.

Many people have never worked with a Tri Tip (pictured) or even how to cook Ribs in different ways. Embrace The Flame BBQ is about trying new things to expand your knowledge and also your taste buds.

Are you considering a new grill or an easy smoker to work with?

I have some suggestions and ideas to help you shift from that small kettle you use now and then to something else that creates amazing food that will get you excited to grill and smoke food daily & weekly.
